Personnelle Matte Lipstick Review

Drugstore Beauty Brands have been marking their space in the industry with their quality products at an unbeatable price. Nowadays, you can easily find your holy grail products at your local drugstore! This is exactly what I experienced after discovering an indie brand lately. If you want to know more, here’s my Personnelle Matte Lipstick Review!

Who is Personnelle?

You may have not heard of this brand before but that’s because Personelle Cosmetics is an exclusive line carried by a Canadian Drugstore called Jean Coutu. This brand is also sold exclusively at their stores only.

Matte Lipsticks

The Matte Lipstick is probably the very first collection I’ve ever used from this brand. Just like what the name implies, this collection is basically a full range of matte lipsticks.

There’s currently ten shades available from this collection which for me is very limited. However, the color palette is just beautiful. The shades are mainly pinks, red and browns which are really good to complete your basics.

I picked two shades out of the ten which I thought matched my skin tone and are perfect for everyday use. We have Classique and Country.

Classique is basically a deep red shade with a brown undertone. For me, it is the perfect red to use for both work and play. It is also highly buildable if you want a more intense finish.

Country, on the other hand, is a nude brown shade with pink undertone. This shade is my favorite out of the two because it’s muted and looks really natural.

Why I love it?

Whenever I am wearing these lipsticks, I tend to forget that they are actually Matte. That’s because the consistency is very creamy and not drying. It almost feels like I am not wearing anything on my lips which is such a plus for me!

I also like that the product does not look patchy even when my lips are dry this Winter season. It still applies evenly and does not break or cling to my dry lines.

Although I wouldn’t clasify this lipstick a hundred percent transferproof, I like that it’s not messy when it does smudge. Why? Because it doesn’t transfer on my teeth, my clothes or my face. The only smudging that I notice is on my cup of coffee or water bottle which is easily forgivable.

The Price

Retail price for each lipstick is at $5.99 CAD or $4.52 USD. However, I managed to get these two on special at $2.99 CAD which is such a steal!

What didn’t I like about it?

The limited shade range is probably the only bummer for this lipstick! I am surprised that Personnelle only came up with 10 colors given the fact that variety is such a thing in the beauty industry right now. I really wish that they would produce more shades in the future.

The Verdict

Overall, I love this collection and would highly recommend it! If you have dry lips and is looking for the perfect matte lipstick, this is absolutely the one for you!

Now, I must say though that this does not last very long so you would need to reapply after about 2 to 3 hours. But with the price and how it performs, you cannot beat this lipstick!

Have you tried this lipsticks yet or any product from this brand?

Till next time!

Amazing post, as always! I agree with what you’re saying about how drugstore brands are offering popular products at a cheaper price, making them more accessible, I recently watched a Jeffree Star video where he said the same thing! Love this post xx
