“One Summer Day in Quebec City”
Quebec City is one of my favorite city’s because of its grandiose architectures and scenic views regardless of the season. In fact, it became my go to destination to unwind and relax because the city boasts different and unique places to visit. It is only a three hour drive from Montreal which makes it accessible to me as well.
Just a week ago, me and my siblings decided to visit the city as a part of our traditional “Siblings Day Out” which we always do at least once a month to bond and enjoy.
We pretty much choose to tour around the Old Quebec area since there’s a lot of beautiful and unique cafe’s, restaurants and boutiques around that we can quickly visit and of course the over all ambiance of this historic place is just beautiful. This is also the exact same location where the famous Korean drama- Goblin (Raise your hand Gong Yoo fans! LOL) filmed some of their scenes so we we’re really excited to try and find those exact locations.
The whole city is decorated with beautiful and unique European architectures which makes you feel like you’re in Paris (or maybe it’s just me) and the cobblestone walkaways even adds effect to that vibe. Every corner of the city is also very picturesque which is perfect for all of your Instagram snaps.
I also loved the exterior designs of all the boutiques around the area. They’re all unique from each other and looks very elegant. You would really be enticed to check out their products and maybe even tempted to buy. The whole alley could even cater for everyone as it is rich with different kind of stores such as souvenir shops, clothing boutiques, jewelry shops, artist’s studios, cafe’s, ice cream parlors and many more.
Although this is not the first time for me to visit Quebec City, I am still amazed with all the scenery that we’ve seen that day plus it was a beautiful sunny summer day which made the trip more fun because we are finally having a taste of sunshine on this rainy summer. This place is a perfect getaway for those who are looking for a peaceful weekend.
Before heading back to Montreal, we decided to have a quick stop at the Parc de la Chute- Montmorency (English: Montreancy Falls Park) which is just a few minutes away from Old Quebec. I’ve been wanting to visit this place for a while so I urge my siblings to go with me.
The falls was beautiful which is the main attraction of the park but they also have a few activities for the thrill seekers like zip lining and cable cars. There’s also a suspension bridge above the falls that can be reached by walking a number of stair cases which we opted not to go because we were running out of time and we were already tired from walking most of the day. We were able to enjoy the view from the foot of the falls so we were still contented with this quick stop.
And so that’s me and my siblings quick little trip in Quebec City! Hope you guys enjoyed it with us!
Much love,
Arlene Kischaen Aboli
