10 Little Ways To Help You Save This 2019

One of the reasons on why we fail to save our hard-earned money is because we tend to ignore the little things. We sometimes have the wrong notion that saving only means we need to set aside a higher amount or that we only need to do bigger sacrifices. Wrong! Starting small is a great way especially if your current financial situation does not allow you to set aside a large percentage of your income into savings. To help you in this process, here are 10 Little Ways To Help You Save This 2019!

Prep and Pack your Own Food

Buying breakfast or lunch at work on a daily basis costs you more than you think! Even if your workplace offers affordable meals it will all ball up at the end of the week. The best way is to prep your own food at home and pack it to work. This includes breakfast, lunch and even your snacks.

Bring your Own Coffee

This may sound funny but if you spend $3.00 or more on coffee or latte every single day, you have to think twice because that means you are wasting $90.00 every month on something that you can easily make at home. Buy a good tumbler and prepare your own coffee to work or school. I promise, this is way more cost effective.

Stop Paying for Unnecessary Monthly Subscriptions

This includes magazine subscriptions, beauty boxes, streaming memberships just to name a few. Bottom line is if it’s not necessary, do not subject yourself to pay for it on a regular basis. Take advantage of the free subscriptions available online to assess if you really need it, if not, save your money.

Avoid Buying Sale Items that you Do Not Need

When stores put on their SALE posters or alert in-store or online, it can tempt us to buy things that we do not actually need. Our reason, IT IS ON SALE! But, spending even a single dollar for something that you will never use or will only use once or twice is a total waste of money. Learn to take advantage of the promotions rather than the other way around.

Avoid Eating Out on a Regular Basis

Eating out is another unnecessary expense that we tend to willingly do which is costing us a lot! Start cooking your own meals or eating most of your meals at home. For special occasions, you can instead host a house party rather than paying a bill at an expensive restaurant.

Do Not buy Things just because Everyone has it

Basically, do not allow society to influence you on buying things just because it’s in or because everyone has it. Remember, trends can go away very easily so always prioritize your finances because it’s something that will benefit you in the long run.

Do Not Buy Things Unless you Really Need It

This is kind of a follow-up on the point above. The rule is simple, if you can live without it, DO NOT BUY IT!

Learn to Invest on Quality than Quantity

This principle may sound tricky because you may need to cash out a higher amount. However, it is cheaper to spend more on something that’ll last you for a long time rather than buying a more-affordable version that’ll require you to constantly repurchase or maintain.

Think Twice Before Purchasing Anything

Avoid buying on an impulse. Before swiping your credit or debit card, think twice and hard if you really need to make that purchase. If you are in doubt, DO NOT BUY IT!

Make your Own if You Can

The reason why I love DIY’s is that it saves me a huge amount of money. Say for example a body scrub normally costs between $10.00 CAD or more if you buy it in store, if I make my own, it’ll practically cost me $0.00 since I’ll tend to use ingredients that I already have in my kitchen!

Hope you guys find this post helpful!

Till next time!
