Studded Kiss Crème Lipstick by Kat Von D

The Studded Kiss Crème Lipstick by Kat Von D is something that I’ve been really loving these past few months but haven’t really shared a review yet.It has been my go-to pick like I mentioned in my March Favourites post and honestly, I still can’t get enough of it!

This collection is already one of Kat Von D’s staple products but she still decided to up her game by improving the formula. She even went further by adding three different finishes- glimmer, satin matte and metallic. Exciting isn’t it? But what else is there to love about this lipstick? Well, allow me to share the good news to you!

What do I love about it?

The packaging! Unique is an understatement! The all-black studded tube is very recognizable yet minimal at the same time which makes it very photogenic. It even helps on opening the tube easily since it is not metallic. Aside from the packaging, the beautiful scent this lipstick have is one of the small details I love about it. It has a creamy aroma which makes perfect sense because the formula itself is very creamy. The smell doesn’t linger after application nor does it alter your taste buds which I thought is impressive.

As the name suggests, the formula is very creamy and rich which made the application a breeze. All you need is one swipe since it is very pigmented and you are good to go! I also did not notice any dryness or creasing on my lips even if I don’t apply a lip balm before application. You can, of course, build it up for a more intense finish and it won’t look or feel heavy.

What don’t I love about it?

Now, this part of the review is a bit difficult because I want to say I love everything about this collection but if there’s one thing I don’t like about it, I’d say it is the longevity. Normally this would be a big bummer for me, you can call it favoritism but I honestly do not mind since I love applying this to my lip plus they don’t really claim this to be long lasting so it is forgivable. I mean, it lasts for a few hours which is decent but if you are one who drinks a lot of coffee or tea or whatever then you might need to reapply constantly because it is not transfer proof. (P.S. I did not notice any staining in my teeth or clothes so again, it’s forgivable!)

The Verdict!

As you can probably already tell, I am smitten by this lipstick! The quality is outstanding and is reasonably priced at $23.00 CAD. The shade selection is very impressive which is one thing that a lot of brands fails to execute. This is basically a lipstick that’s suited for everyone because it is not dry or greasy. The formula seems to accentuate every type of lips!
