Love You So Mochi Eyeshadow Palette from NYX
I was extremely excited when NYX released their Mochi Collection a few months ago. The Love You So Mochi Eyeshadow Palette in Sleek and Chic is what I picked from the collection and have been using it daily since. I find this palette perfect as a daily use since the shades are easy to work with and contemplate on my day to day look. I have been using the palette for a few weeks now and I thought it’s time for me to share what I think about it.
What I liked about it
The shade selection is what struck me most on the Sleek and Chic palette and so I chose it over the Electric Pastels palette. Everything about the shade speaks about me so I thought it would be a perfect addition in my stack of palettes. The price ($25.00 CAD) is also pretty reasonable considering that the palette contains ten different shades of decently sized eyeshadows. The shades also has a good balance of matte and shimery finish which is considerably impressive for a mid-range palette.
Since this collection is inspired by the Japanese dessert called Mochi, I did expect the eyeshadow to be soft and creamy which it is. This formulation did help for a smooth and quick application but I also noticed a slight interference in terms of blending but it’s easily solved by using a light hand. Another impressive thing about this palette is that I did not notice any fall off during application which is what I am always looking for in an eyeshadow because it helps to save me time in terms of me not having the need to clean up my eye area.
What I don’t like about it
The only deal breaker that I experienced with this palette is the longevity. I mean it actually last for about 6 hours or even more which is amazing but I noticed that as soon as it hit the 2nd or 3rd hour, the product starts to break giving me an uneven look. The eyeshadow just starts to look patchy. I can easily fix it by blending it again with a brush or my fingers but it would also cause me to lose the pigment so by the 6th or 7th hour, my eyeshadow is almost gone.

The Verdict
It took me a while to share a review on this palette because I honestly wanted to love it 100% but the patchy finish that it’s giving me after just a few hours is a big bummer. I still like this palette though and would recommend it but you have to be careful with the coverage if you have an oily lid. It’s surprising that even using a lid primer does not help to avoid this result. Other than that, everything about the palette is perfect for the price that you are paying for.
Have you tried this palette yet? How’d you like it?

Lovely Review! I actually don’t like this palette much, it bothers me that the shadows are all shimmery but I must admit that the color selection is gorgeous!! Have you tried the highlighting palettes form this collection? they are gorgeous!!
