OLEHENRIKSEN Banana Bright Face Primer

A Vitamin C infused Primer? This honestly sounds so enticing especially since Vitamin C has so many benefits to your skin! Not only are you keeping your makeup in place but you are also providing a much-needed TLC to your skin. This is what made me want to try the OLEHENRIKSEN Banana Bright Face Primer. Honestly, this instantly made it to my holy grails after just a few weeks of using it! Today, let me share the reasons why!

What is it?

A Vitamin C infused primer that’ll help brighten and hydrate the skin while prolonging makeup wear.

What Do I Like About It?

The fact that this primer is packed with Vitamin C is enough for me to love this product! As you may already know, Vitamin C does not only helps to brighten the skin but it also boost collagen production to give you a firmer and more plump skin. These benefits definitely differentiate this to other primers in the market.

Another thing that I love about this primer is that it leaves your skin glowy without looking greasy at the end of the day. This finish is really amazing during the Summer or Winter season.

It also helped to slightly brighten my olive skin complexion which I really love! However, I must say that the brightening effect is not very apparent but is still noticeable considering my skin colour.

Because of its brightening effect, this primer also helped to even out my skin tone prior to makeup application. This helped in creating a seamless base for my foundation and concealer.

Now, since this product is still a primer, I expected it to help my makeup’s longevity especially my foundation. Thankfully, it did just that! It even helped to keep my bronzer and blush in place for at least 10 hours. I even tried using it with different foundations and I still noticed the same results!

If you have a dry or dehydrated skin, this primer may be the one for you. Its hydrating effect is very noticeable and your skin will love it! It’ll leave your skin more moisturized which again is very beneficial before applying your makeup.

The Swatch

This primer has a soft and velvet-like consistency which feels very soothing to the skin. It also applies smoothly which I find relaxing and not distressing to the skin.

This consistency is even better than a few moisturizers that I tried before!

What Didn’t I Like About It?

As lovable as it is, this primer is undeniably not perfect! First, I am not a fan of the packaging or I must say the pump that came with it. Although this made the product hygienic, I noticed that it does not deposit the product easily. I had to push the pump a few times before the product starts to come out. This mostly produces an excessive amount of product that will only get to waste.

Since this primer also helps to illuminate the skin, it has a tendency to make your skin look a little bit oilier that it is. This can be a bummer if you have an oily skin. For me personally, my t-zone can be oily once the temperature starts to spike. This primer highlighted that which I obviously didn’t like however, I was able to lessen it a bit by using a setting powder.

This primer also claims to blur the signs of pores which it did. However, this blurring effect does not last a while which I find a bit disappointing.

The Verdict

Overall, I’ll give this primer an 8.5 out of 10. It does have a few misgivings but to be fair, it mostly does what it promises. Most importantly, it really helps to prolong your makeup wear! Personally, the brightening and hydrating effects are just added bonus.

OLEHENRIKSEN, in my opinion, was able to deliver a multi-tasking product with this one. I personally love how you can use this as a primer, moisturizer and a highlighter which makes the price worth it.
