Most of us aspire to be a girl boss but becoming one doesn’t happen overnight! It requires a lot of hard work not only career-wise but also on a personal level. So, if you like to start your journey in becoming one, you can follow the Five Powerful Habits of A Girl Boss listed below!
Five Powerful Habits of A Girl Boss
Invest in Learning
Investing in learning does not necessarily mean going to school to take courses. We have to realize that there are a lot of opportunities to learn new things every single day. The question is, are you willing to learn?
You can start by dedicating time to learn new things online or in your daily experiences. It doesn’t have to be topic-specific but you can start with the areas that interest you. The most important thing is that you are constantly training your brain to digest new information.
Personally, I love learning by listening to podcasts and reading. These are two ways that you can also do without necessarily spending a ton.
Focus on Self-care
A girl boss is not only keen to succeed in her career but also takes a conscious effort to care for herself! Now, this doesn’t only mean face masks, manicures, and a trip to the spa but I am talking about your entire well-being.
It’s important to take steps that not only nourish your physical body but also emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Having a strong body and mind will ultimately help you take the necessary steps to achieve your goals.
This includes eating right, working out, meditation, and yes, a trip to the Spa!
Planning Ahead
I strongly believe that in life, you have to have a plan! You cannot just have a dream but not make a plan on how to get there!
Start by realizing your goals and create your plan of action from there. Writing your goals and plans is a great way to visualize them. You can write them in a notebook or on a board where you can see them daily.
Read! Read! Read!
Reading is another way of learning but could be a relaxation method for some. Honestly, it’s both right!
There are a lot of books that talk about leadership, enriching yourself, how to develop critical thinking, etc., etc. These are the type of books that you can pivot on to help you with your self-development.
Setting Goals
Setting goals is like your roadmap to achieving your personal success. Goals do not have to be extravagant. You can start with the little goals that will help you achieve your bigger goals. Remember, little wins counts!
Writing your goals will also help you keep a track of your progress and will help you realize the areas that you need to continue to work on in order for you to achieve that specific goal.
It also helps you to keep yourself motivated since you have a visual report of your progress and how close you are to achieving all your other goals!
