The Spring 2019 Makeup Edit

Today is finally the first day of Spring! Although this is probably not the best season, I still don’t hate it since it’s our way out of Winter! Now, since the season is changing, I thought it’d be exciting to switch up some of my makeup essentials. Here’s The Spring 2019 Makeup Edit! If you can relate, this post is for you!

Eyeshadow Palette

For eyeshadows, I am generally in to earth tones, metallic and shimmers. My choice for this season is exactly that! Currently, my choice of palette is the Morphe 55 F. It has a lot of shimmers and a few mattes but the shade selection is just so me.

I like how you can make a lot of different looks from this palette depending on what you want and need. The shades are also perfect for everyday use which means I can easily create a look that’s wearable to work.

Foundation

I completely forgot to take a picture my current Foundation choice (oopps!) but I am definitely going for a lighter but buildable coverage this season. I’ve been using the Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick from Hourglass for the past two weeks which is doing the job so I might continue using this one.

My second choice is the L’essentiel Foundation from Guerlain which I recently purchased. This is a light coverage foundation but promises a 16-hour coverage which sounds promising to me.

Shimmers

I repeat I am obsessed with shimmers! LOL. That’s why I tend to have a wider choice when it comes to highlighters. This Spring, I am looking to experiment more on different undertones but gold and rose gold will be at the top of my list.

I’ve been holding on to my Fenty highlighters for months and months now but I guess to put ’em to rest for now. Milani’s Strobelight Highlighter in DAYGLOW and Becca’s Light Chaser Highlighter in the shade Rose Quartz will probably my go to.

I am also keeping the Glow Stick Glistening Illuminator by Marc Jacob as an alternative since my skin has been peeling after incorporating a Retinol Cream as a part of my skincare routine. Currently, powders are not the best choice so this may come in handy.

Another product that may come in handy is the Touche Éclat Blur Primer by Yves Saint Laurent. It is a shimmery primer that can give me my much needed glow when my skin needed it most.

Bronzer

Bronzers are my go-to since it can easily define my face without doing the nitty-gritty process of contouring. Plus, after months of not being exposed to the sunshine, bronzers can easily help you achieve a sun-kissed skin!

The Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer is my choice for this season.

Blushes

Blushes are essential. As always, I want to play with my blush colors. The Air Blush in the shade Kink & Kisses from Marc Jacobs, the Love Joy Blush from NARS and the Plum Foolery Sheertone Shimmer Blush from MAC will be my g-to this season.

Brow Products

To frame my face, eyebrow products are also important! Pomades are my favorite but I am also loving the Brow Pencil from e.l.f. Cosmetics when I don’t have much time in the morning.

This pencil is very inexpensive but it does the job effectively. If you are looking for a good brow pencil, it may be worth to give this a try.

Lipsticks

Lastly, lipsticks! Now, I do not wear lipsticks on a daily basis but when I do, I prefer browns, nudes, and maybe the lightest shade of red.

For the past season, I’ve been using bullet lipsticks but since I expect my lips to be more hydrated and less dry (definitely looking forward to the warmer temperature this Spring!!), liquid lipsticks can now come back on my everyday essentials.

In case you noticed, I did not include any eyeliner or mascara. That’s because I’ve been trying to eliminate eyeliners on my daily routine because it’s not only time consuming but I am also looking for a more natural look these past few weeks.

Mascara is of course still an essential but I haven’t found the best one for me right now so I am still putting that on hold. So far, all of the new products that I’ve been trying are a complete let down so I might just go back in using L’Oreal’s Voluminous Lash Mascara since it’s still the best mascara that I’ve ever used so far.

What do you guys think of my choices? What are your makeup picks this Spring?

Till next time,
