“DIY Himalayan Salt Body Scrub”
The colder temperature during Fall and Winter seasons can really be harsh and drying to the skin which makes hydration really important. However, exfoliation is also as important to remove dead skin cells which is essential for a healthy and hydrated skin.
For today’s post, I’ll be sharing with you a simple recipe of a Himalayan Salt Body Scrub which is so easy to make and is beneficial to the skin. You might’ve seen a lot of this type in the market but I personally prefer making my own body scrubs because they’re not only cheaper but you also know the exact ingredients used and you’ll be sure that the scrub doesn’t contain chemicals that can be harmful to your skin and health.
What you’ll need:
• Fine Himalayan Salt
• Olive Oil
• Vitamin E Oil
• Essential Oil
• Container, Spoon, Bowl
Steps:
•Add the Himalayan Salt, Olive Oil and Vitamin E Oil in a bowl and mix until you get the consistency that you like.
There’s really no exact measurements for the ingredients so I suggest to just make an approximation based on your preference and usage. If you like your body scrub to be more dense, just add a little bit of the Olive Oil but if you’re like me who prefer a lighter and less dense body scrub, just add more of the Olive Oil.
•Once you get the consistency that you want, add 6 drops of your preferred essential oil. I personally love Lavender Oil so that’s what I’m using for this scrub.
•Place the finished mixture in a container if you want to store it. Take note that if you’re using a Vitamin E Oil, it will help to preserve your scrub for about 4 to 6 weeks.
•You can use labels or decorations of you’re own choosing just to make it more personalized or if you want to give it as a gift.
And you are done!
Why choose these ingredients?
•Himalayan Salt- It’s very effective on detoxifying the skin. It removes dirt, bacteria and toxins in the body. It’s also very calming making it one of the most used ingredients for body care and spa products.
•Vitamin E Oil- I almost always use this oil in every DIY I share with you guys because of its anti-aging benefit. It also helps to repair and hydrate the skin.
•Olive Oil- Another most used oil in my skin care DIY’s because this is rich with so much vitamins like A, D and K. It is also very moisturizing on the skin!
I hope you guys like this little DIY and I encourage you to try it because it’s really effective and easy to make. You will notice that your skin will become more smooth after just one use. I use it once a week now that it’s colder to avoid my skin from drying and I also use it as a lip scrub!
So that’s all for today! Let me know what you think about this DIY if you try it.
Much love,
