What it is?
The TruBlend Base Business Primer is a collection of four different primers (Illuminating, Pore-Minimizing, Color Neutralizing, and Skin Smoothing) that preps the skin before makeup application and helps to keep your makeup lasts longer. Each primer is made to target your skin’s specific needs.
COVERGIRL’S Color Neutralizing SKIN PRIMER
Today, we are going to focus on the Color Neutralizing Primer. Since I have a lot of skin redness due to my acne breakouts, this primer is the best choice for my skin. It contains an ingredient that helps to minimize skin redness and balance your skin tone for an even and seamless makeup application.
What to like about it?
There’s so much to like about this primer but the most important thing is that it works! It did an amazing job on prepping my skin and hiding my red spots. Although I noticed it leaving my skin lighter than usual when applied it’ll eventually disappear once it’s dry so it won’t affect your makeup’s finish. It also goes on so smoothly so you won’t need to use so much product making it cost effective.
Before using this product, I would always need to prime my skin and use a different color correcting concealer to balance out my skin tone. This became unnecessary ever since I started using this primer so it helped cut down my makeup time. Now, I can spend more time blending my eyeshadow!
Another thing to like about this primer is its price. It retails for $12.99 CAD in some drugstores but you can steal it for a lesser price in Walmart, Amazon or whenever it’s on sale. Since using this primer means ditching other color correcting products, you can also save those extra dollars for yourself!
Best for…
If skin redness is your problem, then this primer is the right one for you! If you have dry skin, this primer is also for you because of its dewy finish.
Verdict
Bottom line is that this is a decent primer especially for anyone with so much skin redness. It works. It’s affordable and it helps to keep your makeup last without compromising the effect of other products that you are using. However, if you have an oily skin, you may want to use this as a spot primer for your red spots but use a mattifying primer on the rest of your face.
Have you used this primer yet? Would you recommend it?

It did nothing. I have sensitive skin and rosacea. I hoped it would at the very least cut down the redness. I applied this on one side of my face and a moisturizer on the other and both sides looked the same. Absolutely no reduction at all. No change. Very disappointing.

I will for sure have to add this to my next makeup haul to try!
