What’s In My Makeup Travel Bag | NYC Edition

Over a week ago, I visited NYC for a few days for a rather short vacation. The busyness of the city can be overwhelming but it’s always an experience to explore one of my favorite cities on this planet! I opted to pack light or maybe I tried (very hard!) since we were only staying for a few days. The makeup part was a bit difficult but I managed to bring my essentials and a few trusted products that’ll make my mornings easier. So if you are curious, here’s:

Foundation:

I decided to play safe and picked the NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation since I trust its longevity and coverage. It did not disappoint because it was what all I needed for this trip.

Concealer:

Kat Von D’s Lock it Concealer Creme was another item on my travel makeup bag. It was perfect for brightening my undereye since we mostly had sleepless nights whilst in the city. I also used it as an eyeshadow primer and it worked really well!  The product was so light so it didn’t settle in my undereye. I also brought the Bye Bye Breakout Concealer from It Cosmetics to cover a few breakouts.

Primer:

Thankfully I still have a sample size of the Photo Finish Foundation Primer from Smashbox because it was just so much easier to bring and it works so well on blurring my pores.

Eyeshadow:

For eyeshadow, I brought my Obsessions palette in Mauve by Huda Beauty. The shades are stunning, buildable and very easy to work with. It’s also very easy to create different looks with this palette so I thought it was the best choice.

Mascara:

Another classic here is the Badgal Bang Mascara by Benefit. I’ve been obsessin’ with this mascara for a few months now so it’s no doubt that I will bring it for this trip. I just love how it thickens and elongates my lashes giving me a more awake look. This has also been my daily mascara! I also brought the Pixi Lower Lash Mascara for those just in case moments but hadn’t had the chance to actually use it.

Eyeliner:

Tarte’s Tarteist Double Take Eyeliner is another current favorite so it was just proper for me to bring it. This liner is super easy to work with and makes winged eyeliner very easy.

Eyebrow Pencil:

For my eyebrows, I chose the Goof Proof Brow Pencil from Benefit Cosmetics mainly because it’s super easier for me to do my brows with a pencil. I hate taking so much time to get ready whilst on a trip so this was a big time-saver.

Highlighter:

Fenty Beauty’s Killawatt Highlighter was my choice of highlighter since I had two shades to select on. The shade Hu$tla Baby was my daily choice but the Mean Money is also perfect for a more subtle look.

Lips:

I kept it down for lippies since I only brought my classic staples- Kat Von D’s Studded Kiss Creme Lipstick in Lolita and Colourpop’s Ultra Glossy Lip in Weho.

Our last item is the Makeup Setting Mist from Pixi. I was initially reluctant to bring this because it wasn’t really handy but ended up grabbing it last minute. I love how refreshing this spray feels to my skin which I thought is perfect after a few hours of transit. It also did an amazing job on keeping my makeup in place so I didn’t need to reapply anything as much.
