The Pixi Skintreats Rose Cream Cleanser

The Pixi Skintreats Rose Cream Cleanser is one of the products on my Pixi Beauty Skintreats Mini Haul. I basically see it as the twin sister of the Glow Mud Cleanser which is also from the #skintreats Collection. What’s exciting about this cleanser is that it contains Chamomile and Aloe Vera which are both very beneficial to the skin. It claims to strengthen and soften the skin so I readily jump in on using the product.

Aside from the beautiful pink packaging, this cleanser’s ingredients is what enticed me most. Chamomile in particular is something that I’ve been wanting to incorporate on my skin care routine because of its healing and soothing properties. It also helps to reduce redness and acne scars which is what my skin really needs right now. Needless to say, I had very high expectations from this cleanser! But did it live up to my expectations? In all honesty, it did not but I can still consider it as a pretty decent daily cleanser.

What I liked about it

This is probably one of the most gentle facial cleanser I have ever used in my entire life! The product felt so soft on my skin and it did leave my skin feeling and looking smooth. My skin has also never experienced any negative reaction from this cleanser ever since I started using it which is notable given the fact that my skin is very sensitive. It did not cause me any dryness or any new breakout.

What I don’t like about it

I actually have the same complain about this product with the Glow Mud Cleanser. It is not an effective cleanser in terms of thoroughly cleansing the skin which I find very funny because isn’t it facial cleansers supposed to clean the face? This one doesn’t do the job! It leaves traces of makeup on the skin which means it is not also able to remove remnants of skin care products that are stuck on your pores. Now this is crucial for anyone who has a sensitive skin like me because it can easily cause breakouts if you are not double cleansing.

Another turn off would be the scent! I was expecting a hint of chamomile or rose as I open the tube but was very disappointed. This is odorless period. Although this can be a good indication that there’s no added artificial scent (which is good for the skin) on the product. I still believe that with all the natural products listed on this cleanser’s ingredient you should still be able to smell a tiny bit of them!

The Verdict

As you may already tell, I have mixed thoughts about this product. I mean it is a good cleanser but good is not enough when it comes to skin care. If you are one who is looking for an all-in-one cleanser, this is absolutely not for you. However, if you are just looking for something to make your skin smooth whilst maintaining another thorough cleanser then you can consider this as an addition. Personally, I do not see the need for this type of cleanser because I can find other products that does the same but can also cleanse my skin from deep down.

Have you tried this cleanser yet? What products from the #skintreats Collection would you recommend?
