“BH Cosmetics Mini Haul + First Impressions”

BH Cosmetics is yet another affordable makeup brand in the market unfortunately it’s not readily available here in Canada so I haven’t got the chance to use any of their products until now. I made my very first purchase in their website two weeks ago and it finally arrived yesterday.

I picked up the Studded Couture 12 Piece Brush Set which is sold for only $14.00 USD ($21.99 CAD) and I also managed to get three free items as a part of their site wide promotion at the time of my purchase.

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much on the makeup brushes given the price but at the same time I heard so much good reviews about the makeup brushes from BH Cosmetics so I was extremely excited to finally receive it. I placed my order on October 19 and I finally received it yesterday, October 30 so the shipping time is actually not so bad.

To say the least, I am very much impressed with the brushes since the very first glance. Although I haven’t used any of them yet, the quality is evidently good. The brushes doesn’t look cheap instead they look really fab with its ivory colored handle and gold studs. The bristles are really soft and nicely tucked together so I’m hoping that this would be a good indication that the bristles won’t fall off. They also look so sturdy which really impressed me because this makeup brush set is really inexpensive.

The set came in a cute cylindrical case that has the same color with the brushes. Again, it looks and feels very sturdy. I can see myself using this case to store my brushes when travelling or I might even use it as my makeup brush holder because it’s really cute.

Over all, I am very much impressed with the brushes and I can’t wait to start using all of them!

With my purchase, I was qualified to receive three free items which are the BH Liquid Eyeliner in Black, Neutral Eyes to Go – 6 Color Eyeshadow Palette and the Sixth Edition 1st Tray To Go- 6 Color Eyeshadow Palette.

The liquid eyeliner is just okay. I really liked the tip of the applicator since it feels soft on the skin and it seems to apply the product evenly. The tip actually reminds me of a Sharpie because their tips are so similar. I’m just not impressed with the color because it’s more like a dark gray with brown undertones than a black. I had to apply three coats for me to get the intensity that I want. It seems that it doesn’t last as well or maybe it’s just so easy to remove since I just wash it off with water and the liner came off so easily which made me think if this will last for the whole day.

Next are the Neutral Eyes To Go and the Sixth Edition 1st Tray To Go Eyeshadow Palettes. Both are small palettes that contains six eyeshadows each. The packaging is simple and is made up of plastic, it doesn’t have a compact mirror which is a big turn off for me. Also, the variety of the colors are really not impressive, they seem to not reallt match the names of the palette.

The consistency of the shadow seems dry and flaky, it’s also very difficult to blend and you have to use quite a lot of the product to build it up. The shades in the palette doesn’t retain the same color when applied on the skin, it actually looks lighter so it’s important to build it up for it to be even visible.

Although I am not impressed with the freebies that I received, I’m not really complaining much since I didn’t really pay for them so I seriously don’t care.

Over all, this is such an amazing purchase. The makeup brush is super worth it including the case that came with it. I actually had to pay duty taxes for almost $15.00 CAD but again, I really thought it’s worth it and I had some freebies so yeah, it’s all good.

I would definitely repurchase in the future whenever I need some new makeup brushes but for makeup, I’m still not sure. I think I still have to experiment on their makeup products.

Have you tried any makeup brushes from BH Cosmetics? What do you think of them?
Much love,
