NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation

The Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation is NARS’ newest addition in their foundation collection and just like the All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation (which is one of my favorite foundations), this was definitely a hit. I was tempted to join the bandwagon mainly because this foundation claims to offer a medium to full coverage whilst giving you a radiant finish that’ll last for 16 hours and with this, who could say no?

You’ve first seen this on my New in Beauty: Winter Edition post and I’ve been using it daily ever since so I thought I’d share my thought about it now.

Coverage

The coverage of this foundation is outstanding! I’d say it’s more on the full coverage side than medium. I also find that I didn’t need to apply a concealer on my dark spots because this foundation’s coverage is enough.

What I liked about this foundation

Firstly, the shade selection is amazing! There is 33 available shades with different undertones to choose from so you’ll most likely find your perfect match like I did. I also like that it came with a pump which I though is very hygienic and can make the product last longer since it wouldn’t be exposed with so much air (this is very beneficial to people with sensitive skin like me). The foundation also feels light on the skin even though it is full coverage so it almost feels just like a second layer of your skin. Application is a breeze after getting used of the product and it applies evenly on my skin. Another impressive thing about this foundation is that it did not clogged my pores, caused me to breakout or caused me to have new breakouts. Before using this foundation, I had a few zits on my face but I didn’t notice them get worse while using this foundation.

What I didn’t like about this foundation

Perfection is difficult to find even in makeup so as much as I have so much things to like about this foundation I also noticed a few misses. The biggest one I guess is that this has a tendency of giving you a cakey finish if you are not careful on the amount of product that you are you using and that’s because this foundation has a thick consistency which is always a turn off for me because I am always on the go and does not always have so much time in the morning to get ready. I also noticed that this settles on my dry areas especially at the corner of my nose which looks very unappealing and is definitely a big no for me. Now, this claims to last for 16 hours which I can completely disagree of because I noticed that the coverage started to fade after about 6-7 hours of wearing it. My t-zone seems to be looking impossibly more oily as well which is because of the “radiant” finish of this foundation.

The Verdict

I’d give this foundation 4 out of 5 stars because I really like the coverage which is what I’m really looking for right now. I’m also impressed that it did not break me out which is what I am always looking for in a product. However since my skin is usually on the drier side, I don’t think this would be an all-year round type of foundation for me which is a big bummer because it can mean more $$$ since I had to spend on a back up foundation. The longevity is also a fail. I can also say that this foundation would be perfect for people with a normal skin type and can be a hit or miss for ones with a combination, oily or dry skin. I would also recommend using a setting spray if you have a dry skin and a setting powder if you have an oily skin just to balance or manage the finish.

Have you tried this foundation yet? How did you like it?

xoxo,
