“Product Review: Fenty Beauty’s Stunna Lip Paint”

Fenty Beauty is on a roll! Surprising us with new products back to back that leaves almost everyone in awe! The Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Color is Rihanna’s newest addition to her growing beauty collection. If you’ve been reading my previous posts, you might already know my love story with liquid lipsticks so when I saw a preview of this baby, I know I had to get it!

I readily snagged it last month which you’ve already seen in my November 2017 Sephora Haul and needless to say, I was super excited to start using it!

So what do I think about this liquid lipstick? Does it worth the hype? Is it worth purchasing?

Firstly and in all honesty, I am not very much impressed with the packaging, it just looks like a nail polish than a lipstick to me although I must admit that it did add glamour on my makeup table. I love the silvery rose gold handle of the applicator and the glass container which readily reveals the stunning red shade of this liquid lipstick.

Currently, there’s just one shade in this collection- Uncensored and I feel like we should be expecting more shades in the next few weeks or not months because it seems like Rihanna is slowly introducing all of her products.

What’s unique about this liquid lipstick is the wand of the applicator which is designed for easy application as the brand claims. It is foamy, soft and a bit rounded but has a slightly slanted tip which did helped glide the product a bit easier especially in the corners of my lips and even on my cupid’s bow but it tends to hold so much of the product so I find it necessary to wipe off most of it on the container.

In terms of the consistency, I can say that it is light but the color pay off is amazing! One swipe can cover my entire lips and I can just build it up if I want a more vivid look which honestly is seemingly unnecessary because the color is already so so rich.

The finish is matte but definitely not dry looking like some matte lipsticks tend to do. It didn’t made my lips feeling dry until about 5 hours of wearing it but I liked that the product did not settle or crease on my lips’ dry areas.

What impressed me about this lipstick is how long it lasted! Sephora’s website claimed that this lasts up-to 12 hours which I can honestly agree with. I’ve worn this without reapplying and it still lasted me the whole day. Obviously, the color is not as vibrant as when you first applied it but it still looks beautiful and rich. This didn’t budge even after I’ve had a soup for lunch which seriously surprised me!

Now, as the saying goes “No one is perfect”, so as this one because the transfer can be really disappointing. Although this dries fast after being applied, application can be very messy if you’re not careful! It can stain your teeth or it can be smudged all over your face because it seems to rub off in everything and anything that touches your lips.

Over all, I’d rate this a 3.8 out of 5 mainly because of the really bad transfer and the packaging. I love that the color is very vibrant and flattering plus it’s very long lasting but again, this can be very messy and even time consuming if ever you make a mistake during application or if you accidentally touched your lips. I’m not a huge fan of reapplying products on my face or constantly checking out my face in the mirror especially during a busy day so this is such a bummer.

Would I repurchase?: Probably not but if they do something about the transfer then maybe I will because the color is seriously beautiful but then again, I’ve tried a few drugstore liquid lipsticks (NYX’s Liquid Suede and Maybelline’s Superstay Matte Ink) with the same results for a way way lower price so I think I won’t repurchase!
Is it worth purchasing?: Sadly I had to say no.

Have you tried this liquid lipstick yet? What do you think about it?

Much love,
