“Product Review: Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette”

I am a novice when it comes to contouring and highlighting just because I don’t really see the need of doing it everyday. I’d only probably do both whenever I am attending an event or if I have plenty of time to prepare in the morning. Although, I haven’t tried a lot of contour and highlighter products or brands I’d say that this palette from Kat Von D is my favorite among all the products I’ve used

The first thing that I loved about this product is the packaging itself since it is simple yet very stylish with an all black color and most importantly it is very sturdy which can really protect the products inside even if the palette fell.

This palette contains three shades for highlighting and another three for contouring which are all matte. All six shades ranges from light to dark which makes this palette very friendly to any kind of skin tone. I also like how they put the shades together because it looks really neat and not overwhelming for a beginner.

I also find each shade very pigmented and true to color since the shade that you see in the palette remains the same when applied to the skin. The product is creamy, easy to apply and blend with a brush or with a beauty blender which means that you can avoid that very sculptured look. I also love how the highlight shades works under the eye and gives it a natural finish even if I have an oily skin. It does not look cakey and most of all it does not create any crease under the eye even after how many hours. The product also lasts a while which initially surprised me because I thought that it may fade all together once you touch up.

I also like that this little “tutorial card” came with the product since it can really help every beginner out there. This card provided a short lesson on how to define cheekbones, slim the face and shape the nose.

If you are looking for great contour palette, I would highly recommend this product especially if you are a beginner when it comes to contouring and highlighting. Although it is pricey but it’s all worth it I promise you that. The palettes are also refillable so it gives you the chance to just repurchase the shades that you prefer. The product is also cruelty free which is a big thumbs up for me!

Have you tried this palette or any Kat Von D products? Would you recommend it?

Much love❤️,
